Under constant review is Reduce, Renew and Recycle approach to consumption and targets to use more environmentally friendly products and processes.

Progressive fleet management practices continue from earlier years and an independent report was commissioned from the Energy Savings Trust to advise on fuel efficiency, reductions in business mileage and vehicle choice. The viability of alternative fuel vehicles continues to be researched and investigated; dual fuel, electric and nil emission vehicles are already in service. Managers and executives can now opt to have a hybrid company car and controls have been tightened on Car Allowance vehicles to encourage fuel and emission efficiency. Telephone and video conferencing have been increased in order to reduce business travel, where practical. "
